04-16-06
- 1600 hours, Harbor Police responded to the fuel dock on Harbor
Island regarding the theft of gasoline. Charges are pending.
04-17-06 - 1700 hours, Harbor Police took a report of a hit and run
that occurred in the A-2 anchorage on 04-13-06. Suspect information
was gathered and Harbor Police will be following up with an
investigation.
04-21-06 - 0920 hours, Harbor Police stored a vessel that was
abandoned at the Harbor Police Long Dock. The vessel had recently
been permitted in the A-8 anchorage but when the permit expired, the
owner did not get it renewed.
1000 hours, Harbor Police responded to the A-3 anchorage regarding a
male experiencing chest pains. The victim was transported via the HP
vessel to paramedics.
04-22-06 - 1200 hours Harbor Police took a report of a
missing juvenile from the A-3 anchorage.
04-24-06 - 1100 hours, Harbor Police and Coast Guard
responded to the A-8 anchorage regarding a fuel spill. The spill was
determined to be incidental and had mostly dissipated.
04-26-06 at 1200 hours, Harbor Police responded to the 10th
Avenue Marine Terminal to help a person having a seizure. He was
transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
04-27-06 -0600 hours, Harbor Police retrieved a dinghy that
was adrift near buoy 8. Harbor Police recognized the name on the
dinghy and was able to bring it back to the owner.
04-28-06 - 1000 hours, Harbor Police located a vessel adrift
in the channel near buoy 17. It was stored for being a hazard to
navigation.
1210 hours, Harbor Police received a radio call to investigate an
environmental pollution incident on Shelter Island. Upon arrival,
Officers observed workers at a restaurant cleaning the outside porch
with a degreaser and soap. The products were being washed into a
nearby storm drain. Harbor Police and/or Coast Guard will be
investigating.
04-29-06 - 1700 hours, Harbor Police responded to the South
Bay Substation regarding a disturbance between boaters. The
situation was resolved and an officers report was made about the
incident.
2138 hours, Harbor Police responded to a vessel that was
"stuck on a boom" near NASSCO. The occupant of the stuck
vessel was deploying distress flares. Upon Harbor Police's arrival,
they determined the driver was impaired by drugs or alcohol. He was
arrested and the vessel was stored.
04-30-06 - 1130 hours, Harbor Police responded to the A-8 anchorage
regarding a possible "intentional scuttling" of a vessel. Harbor
Police found a vessel that was taking on water and was advised that
a suspect was en route to Pepper Park. Harbor Police dewatered the
vessel and an investigation has begun involving the suspect. The
vessel was stored at SBBY.
1230 hours, Harbor Police took a report from a person in the A-8
Anchorage who claimed that another boater in the A-8 took property
from his vessel without his permission.
1840 hours, Harbor Police responded to Pepper Park regarding an
incident over a vessel creating a wake had escalated into a physical
altercation.
05-01-06 - 1025 hours, Harbor Police responded to the 10th
Avenue Marine Terminal where a subject was possibly suffering a
heart attack. The subject was transported to the hospital.
05-05-06 - 0435 hours, Harbor Police observed a vessel tied
to the dinghy dock that had been there for several hours. The person
on board had fallen asleep. Upon contact, he was found to be in
possession of marijuana. He was cited for the marijuana and docking
violations and released at the scene.
0627 Harbor Police responded to the area of the Coronado Bridge
where a person had jumped. The body was recovered in the water.
05-06-06 - 1745 hours, Harbor Police responded to a vessel in
the A-8 anchorage after complaints of prostitution were called in.
Harbor Police did not find evidence of that but located a person
wanted on an out-of-state warrant for drug charges. The subject was
arrested for the warrants and will be extradited.
05-07-06 - 1100 hours, Harbor Police issued a citation to a
subject in the A-8 anchorage for anchoring illegally.
05-08-06 - 0510 hours, Harbor Police and SD Fire responded to
a marina on Shelter Island where a vessel had caught fire. It was
determined to be an electrical fire.
1350 hours, Harbor Police responded to the Coronado Launch Ramp
where two subjects had stripped a vessel, taken out its through hull
fittings and dumped it into the water. Harbor Police located the
suspects and an investigation has begun.
1425 hours, Harbor Police responded to a marina on Harbor Island
where an elderly male fell and injured himself while on the stern of
his vessel. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
05-09-06 - 1100 hours, Harbor Police observed a female with
outstanding warrants on a vessel in the A-8 anchorage. The female
was on a vessel that did not belong to her and she was dragging
anchor into the channel. She was arrested for the warrants and the
vessel was stored at SBBY.
1230 hours, Harbor Police located a vessel that was
abandoned in the A-8 anchorage. The dilapidated vessel had once been
permitted, but the owner left the area with no forwarding
information. The vessel was stored for being illegally anchored.
1315 hours, Harbor Police issued a citation to a subject who was
illegally anchored on a vessel in the A-8 anchorage.
2200 hours, Harbor Police issued a citation to a person who was
underway without lights near the A-8 anchorage.
05-10-06 - 1900 hours, Harbor Police issued a citation to a
subject in the A-8 anchorage for not having a valid anchoring
permit.
1830 hours, Harbor Police issued a citation to a subject in the A-8
anchorage for not having a valid anchoring permit.
